How we fit

An honest read of the market.

We don't claim to be everything to everyone. Here is exactly where we are the right call, and where a broad managed-services partner or an enterprise incumbent might suit you better.

When to hire sqldba

We are a deeply specialized practice. We're the right fit if:

  • You need extreme technical depth in SQL Server performance, risk, or licensing, rather than broad "IT support".
  • You value data-driven diagnostics. We run the open-source SQLTriage engine — 500+ checks — to map your estate, taking guesswork out of the equation.
  • You want a senior principal on your servers every time. No juniors reading scripts, no bait-and-switch.

When to hire a broad MSP

We share the market with excellent broad-reach providers. They are the right fit if:

  • You require a 24/7/365 follow-the-sun helpdesk for general infrastructure (networks, active directory, endpoints).
  • Your procurement department mandates a global nameplate with ISO 27001 certification and a 35+ person delivery bench.
  • You need Microsoft Partner badges on the letterhead.
Transparency

Why you won't see client logos or partner badges.

1. We protect your identity.

We do not publish client logos. We find catastrophic vulnerabilities inside mission-critical data platforms. Revealing who we work with paints a target on their back. Your confidentiality is a feature, not a bug.

2. We cannot serve two masters.

We held Microsoft Partner status for three years, then gave it up deliberately. Our job is to defend you against aggressive licensing audits and cut your software spend — we have eliminated over NZ$50M in client liabilities to date. The partner model put us on divergent incentives: a sales quota with the vendor pulls directly against aggressively cutting your licensing bill. We could not serve two masters, so we chose the client.

Not sure who you need?

Tell us what is going on. A senior DBA reads every message and points you at the right next step, even when that is not us. Sometimes the honest answer is that your current provider is fine and you need one conversation, not a contract.
